The Sahel

‎The Sahel is a transition zone between the Sahara Desert to the North and the Sudanian Savanna to the South. It is a 1,000 km band that stretches from Mauritania and the Atlantic Ocean in the West to Eritrea and the Red Sea in the East.

You will have the opportunity to enter in this unique environment, where the most important tree species is the umbrella acacia (Vachellia tortilis), also present in Arabia.
The animals that you will see are the one that you could see in the African Sahel. You can see various species of gazelles and the Red-necked Ostrich.

Stay tuned! You may find them resting from the heat, in some shade, or coming to drink water in one of the waterholes we have created for them.
