EPAA

The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) strives to protect terrestrial and marine environments, and fauna and flora through education, management and research.

Offer centres under the EPAAs management include the Sharjah Desert Park with Arabia Wildlife Centre and Breeding Centre for Endangered Arabian Wildlife as well as Kalba Bird of Prey Centre, Wasit Wetland Centre, AlHefaiyah Mountain Species Conservation Centre, Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre, Buhais Geology Park , and AlDhaid Wildlife Centre .

This direct relationship between Sharjah Safari and the environmental authority provides a great opportunity for environmental education and conservation action. Her Excellency Ms Hana Saif Al Suwaidi believes that Sharjah Safari, and all of the EPAAs other centres, have a vital role to play in tackling environmental issues, through their various activities and programmes, which contribute to raising environmental awareness.

Enforcing the UAE’s environmental heritage

The EPAA is the Sharjah Government organization responsible for enforcing the UAE’s Federal Environment Law in the Emirate of Sharjah, and thus involved in monitoring and control of pollution, environmental education and management of protected areas.

Sharjah Safari is one of several conservation centres established by the EPAA under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al- Qassimi, Member of the Federal Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and leadership of Her Excellency Ms Hana Saif Al Suwaidi.
